Fond du Lac has a rich poetry tradition and many poets reside in the immediate area. From the original Foot of the Lake Poetry Collective to the Lake Reading Series, poets have long called Fond du Lac home. In honor of these poets’ work—and their own poetic and authorly inspirations—we will host a monthly poetry book club at Lake Lit on third Thursdays from 3-5 PM. We will meet most third Thursdays of the month except for October and December.

For our March 20, 2025 poetry club, we will discuss BRIGHT DEAD THINGS, by Ada Limón. The Lake Lit Poetry Book Club will always be FREE, but we ask that you register ahead of time and either read some of the poet’s work online to familiarize yourself with the poet or source the book on your own, whether from your local library or closest independent bookseller. No need to read the entire collection; we will read several poems aloud and discuss.
